My name is Jessica Tracy and my mission is to bring awareness to the importance of having a healthy relationship with your Self.
In 2009, I lost my job and became very sick with an Ulcerative Colitis flare up. I began a blog called Advice Over Pie as a platform to vent my frustrations with the disease and to share my struggles with anxiety and past regret. I always had anxiety and guilt but never the time to figure out the root of them. Being unemployed provided me with ample time.
In spring of 2010, I listened to the audible book of The Secret. It was the guidepost that led me down the path to self-discovery and healing. I would go through brief periods of Colitis remissions, as I worked hard to heal the wounds of the past and the present. During, one of those remission periods in 2012, I wrote about my experiences with The Secret and its sequel The Power and posted it on The Secret’s forum. Four years later I was published in “How the Secret Changed My Life.“
In February of 2014, I had the pleasure of becoming reacquainted with my Self. This newly found self-love made me aware of the damage my lack of self-respect had been causing in my relationships, professional life and mental and physical well being. It opened my eyes to the patterns of self-destruction in others as well, so when I came up with the idea for Buff Beads I seized the opportunity to use them to share my message.
I shut down Advice Over Pie in 2014 after it became apparent it was no longer applicable to my life. The foundation of AOP and the path it had created was beautiful and raw, but it came from a place of pain. Its roots are deep in suffering. I was sick with Ulcerative Colitis and tortured by my past. I was no longer that person. Shortly later the Buff Beads store opened and three years later we transferred the contents of my beautiful healing ramblings to blog space there where I have begun to write again.
I live in Chilliwack, BC with my husband David, daughter Abby, our Pug Matthew and our cat Scully. We are a super nerdy family decorating our house with Star Wars and Lord of the Rings collectibles and the genre like art work. We enjoy the adventure of traveling, but when life can’t afford us that we play video games and explore virtual worlds.
I can recite PI to the 26th digit, I am a member of the local Holistic Chamber of Commerce where I manage the social media and I love hot dogs.
Buff Beads is ingrained in every part of my life. I try to be authentic and true to myself in all that I share, write and do. It’s not about the color or style of the beads, it’s about connecting with the essence of you, your soul, your Self and falling in love with this life. Buff Beads are just the reminder.
